Of all the things Orange County is known for, being a historical hotbed for third-wave ska is perhaps one of the most niche.

Back in the 90’s during the Warped Tour boom in punk bands, Orange County gave rise to what felt like an endless stream of incredible third wave ska bands including Reel Big Fish, Save Ferris, Suburban Legends, and more.

While ska as a genre has faded from that brief limelight in the early 90’s, the bands that were spawned from the southern California ska scene have long retained their legendary status—many of them still playing today, including the inexhaustible RBF and the recently resurrected Save Ferris.
